Race Officials Courses
We need your help, it’s very simple!
We are dependant on volunteers to run all our races.
During the summer there are a multitude of races taking place throughout the country at different locations. In ERSA alone we run nearly a dozen regional races and on top of there several clubs run their own Club Nationals with the support of the region. However to run all these races we do need volunteers, doesn’t have to be for all the races can just be for some. It can be setting up, running the timing or officiating elsewhere on the slope. The regional races are more relaxed and we do not use the paperwork but we still need help.
For Club Nationals we do need more help from people in the region. In 2012 there will be club nationals at Welwyn, Ipswich, Norfolk, Hemel and Milton Keynes. These races are organised little bit differently from the regional ones, it’s not any more difficult just different.
In March next year Snowsport England are running a few courses for race officials. They are not onerous, it’s not rocket science, very much common sense, but you gain the opportunity to find out more about the specifics of running a Snowsport England race and this can also be fed back into the regional and club races. They are run by people involved with the racing and it is also an excellent chance to meet others.
You do not need to be a member of Snowsport England to attend but as an official you can join up free of charge, you just have to fill in the paperwork and you will be a recognised Snowsport England official.
