1721 Calculation Of Results For Each Race

1721.1 For each competitor:

Race Point = ( Competitor's Time - Winners Time)/Winners Time * F

The value of F shall be as published by FIS for the race discipline. (Currently 570)

1721.2 A "Race Penalty Point" (RPP) shall be determined using the following formula

Race Penalty Point = (A + B - C)/10 where A = the sum of the Snowsport England seed points of the 5 best seeded competitors in the first 10 finishers and B = the sum of the Snowsport England seed points of the 5 best seeded starters in the race and C = the sum of the Race Points of the 5 best seeded competitors in the first 10 finishers.

Where more than one competitor finishes in tenth position, they shall each be eligible for inclusion in the calculation. If two or more competitors in the first 10 finishers have the 5th best seed points, the competitor(s) with the higher race points shall be considered for the penalty calculation. For the purpose of calculating the RPP, the seed list current at the date of the race shall be used.

1721.3 Minimum Penalties : The following minimum race penalty points shall apply: -

1721.3.1 British, English, Welsh Open, Scottish, Irish & European Championships (only one event per nation) 0

1721.3.2 Snowsport England Grand Prix, Celtic Cups, Welsh Closed, SCI Slalom, LSRA races 5

1721.3.3 Snowsport England Club National & other Club Races, Snowsport England Inter Regional Slalom 10

1721.3.4 Minimum penalties for other events may from time to time be determined by the Snowsport England Seeding & Technical Panel.

1721.4 The "Result" for each competitor shall be determined by adding the Race Penalty Point to the competitor's Race Point.

1721.5 Male and Female races will be seeded separately, each with its own Race Penalty Point.

1722 Discretion

1722.1 In order to be fair to all participating competitors, the Snowsport England Seeding & Technical Panel shall have discretion to apply a different RPP from that calculated, if some of the competitors finishing in the top ten have unrepresentatively poor seed points. Any decision to amend the RPP shall be declared in the next published seed list.

1723 Calculation Of Seed Points

1723.1 Seed Points for all but the end-of-season list shall be the minimum of:

1723.1.1 last year's end-of-season seed point (the basic points)

1723.1.2 the average of the 2 best Results this season

1723.1.3 the average of the best Result this season and the basic points

1723.1.4 the best Result this season + 20% (minimum load 10 points)

1723.2 Provisional Seed Points for the end-of-season list shall be the minimum of:

1723.2.1 last year's end-of-season seed point + 20% (minimum load 10 points)

1723.2.2 the average of the 2 best Results this season

1723.2.3 the best Result this season + 20% (minimum load 10 points)

1723.3 Restriction : For options 1723.1.2 and 1723.2.2 to be valid, the two results must be from different venues.
