Firstly congratulations and well done to all those racers taking part in many different races throughout the winter season, some excellent results around. Thank you to those who have sent me something to put on the website, if you would like something posted email it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
A quick update just before the start of the summer season. I will keep this email short but provide you links to everything else online to read at your leisure.
The ERSA age categories for 2012 have been updated. The years follow those published by SSE and due to an error in their published years we have now had to update the ERSA ones as well. The changes relate to SEN, MAS1, MAS2 and MAS3.
After an incredibly successful 2011, Team Evolution will be continuing their support of ERSA for 2012. This year ERSA will also welcome Ski Bartlett, who will be working very closely with Team Evolution over the coming months to provide support at each of the Team Evolution ERSA Summer League races.
It is with pleasure that ERSA welcome Atomic on board with supporting the region for 2012. Atomic have a long association with clubs in the region and have run camps at Ipswich and Hemel over the past few years, as well as supporting racers. Atomic have a history of not only supporting to the top racers but also grass roots skiing at the regional level.
The 2012 ERSA Summer season is very close to starting and with the success of ERSA over the past year we have yet another busy time ahead of us. There is a tremendous amount of work that goes into the planning over the winter and pre-season. During the summer season we also have many jobs that need doing.
After a mixed start to the winter season, a win at the BARSCS, illness at Andorra with the GB team and then a back injury at Bormio, Meg has finally come through to complete a race and gain 2nd place in GS at the Inter Schools Championships in Les Houches. The Inter Schools proved a useful race to see if the break from training and painful physio had paid off. At the end of the same week she and the BSA crew were off to Villars, Switzerland for the Aiglon School Cup. Here Megs was back on form adding a 1st in the GS and a 2nd in the SL.
We would like to welcome Zaini hats on board for the ERSA races. They design and produce bright, baggy and colourful beanie hats as worn by Ben Kilner, Fin Bremner, Alain and Noel Baxter, Chemmy Alcott and many other snowsports stars.
This year there are five club nationals taking place in the region and which hope that as many of you will be able to support them. ERSA is sponsoring a GS event which will take place after each club national and the more club nationals you take part in the better the chance of individuals winning or your club. Full details can be found here.
