The following article is something that coach Richard Breese posted a few years ago about the use of ceramics for the dry slope races. A few bold statements but hopefully gives people a bit more background to the use of ceramics and the over reliance on it rather than focusing on good technique, hopefully useful for parents as well as racers.
If you are on Facebook have a look at the Vail U12 page some interesting posts about the team otherwise their main website is this one www.skiclubvail.org. Again on Facebook one of the interesting videos they have on there with Mikaela Shriffrin about Slalom and GS.
There was recently a regional chairs meeting held at Snowsport England. To keep people up to date with progress attached is some material that has been sent as a result of the meeting including the meetings and also the minutes of the recent SSE board meeting.

There is always something special about night time races and this was no exception.
The first part of the evening was three individual timed runs through the course and the second half everyone was split into teams for the head to head races. This resulted in some exciting racing and action.
There is a Level 2 officials course taking place at the end of the month on the 28th and 29th November in Aldershot. It is a very good opportunity to learn a lot more about the running of the races, well worth attending and we are always looking for more help in the region.
Attached are details of the course and application form. Even if you can only do one day worth looking at it. If you would like more information email chair@ersa.co.uk.
The 2016 ERSA calendar has been updated. The changes are confirmation of the Tallington date and the ERSA Champs at Hemel on the 24th September. We are waiting on confirmation of the Welwyn race on the 25th.

Numerous ERSA skiers competed at the Caxton FX Sponsored BISS Championships which were held at the Hemel Snow Centre on Monday 28 September 2015.
The competition saw almost 300 skiers participating across both junior and senior categories from schools around the UK including Millfield, Eltham College, Felsted, Hampstead School, Littlegarth and New Hall.
Thank you to everyone that has entered but unfortunately we are limited to 8 teams of 5 and we had 66 enter and therefore means several people have not been selected this time round. Please read the attached list and if you are not able to attend please email chair@ersa.co.uk immediately.
For absolute clarity neither ARC or the SSE Board have made a decision that an artificial or dry slope squad should not exist. It has asked for clarity and planning any proposed squad, team or events it may take part it in and details for the development of its athletes.
